MOBILITY
Electric mobility means “moving goods or people by means of an electrically powered vehicle as main propulsion.”
Heavy work is made lighter by the support or complete takeover of an electric motor. In many cases, within an existing application, the traditional power source is replaced by an electric drive. The reason for this can be as diverse as, regulations, customer desire or the desire for a quieter, more environmentally friendly solution. In new mobility applications, it is certainly a trend to equip the drive system with an electric drive.

Depending on installation space, budget and desired performance, a motor type and build will be selected, with or without a transmission. With electric mobility, usually only a battery (pack) is used to power the electric drive. The battery then powers the motor controller that provides control of the electric motor. Depending on the application, a choice will be made for the type of electric motor and the operating range of the application. If necessary, a transmission will be coupled to the electric motor to convert speed into higher torque.
The interface (usually a display) and operation of the drive is an important aspect of the drive that ensures the control, operation and handling of the application. This may involve the use of purchase parts that are integrated within the solution or customer-specific developments. EMT has managed several successful routes to production for a variety of applications. We appreciate the trust of our customers so we will not mention explicit applications as references.
